MIG Welder

Position details:

We are seeking an experienced MIG Welder for a manufacturing company located in North York (Keele/Steeles). The role involves operating MIG welding equipment to produce furniture parts and components, interpreting production specifications and blueprints, performing quality checks, maintaining equipment, and following safety procedures in a fast-paced production environment.

JOB DUTIES:

• Ensures equipment is in safe and proper working condition prior to use
• Receives steel case assembly from previous operation
• Using appropriate jigs/fixtures, operates manual mig-welding equipment to fuse metal
• case parts together.
• Ensures work area is clean and free of hazards.
• Other duties as assigned by Lead Hand and/or Supervisor

SKILLS REQUIRED:

• Possession of valid welding certificate from reputable trade school and asset
• Experience with Mig Welding, Resistance Welding and Tig Welding and asset
• Ability to read and interpret production drawings and schedules
• Physical demands include pushing/pulling/maneuvering cases weighing up to 100lbs
• (cases over 50lbs are handled by 2 welders)
• Good hand-eye coordination
• Able to read, write and communicate in English
• Knowledge of Teknion Quality standards and products
• Consistently follow EHS general rules and procedures and is aware of the EHS policy.
• Demonstrates good initiative for working safely, reporting and participating in EHS.
