Helper/Assistant- Property Maintenance (Part-Time)

Position details:

Seeking a reliable and proactive Assistant Property Superintendent to join our Property Team. Reporting to the Property Superintendent, you will help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for congregants, staff, visitors, and community groups. Responsibilities include preparing spaces for worship, meetings, and events, performing routine indoor and outdoor maintenance, assisting with set up and tear down, supporting events, and providing occasional coverage for team members. Flexibility for occasional evenings, weekends, and short-notice shifts is required.

Must have skills and experience:

• One year or more experience cleaning and maintaining a commercial, institutional, or similar facility
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high standards of cleanliness and maintenance
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions
• Effective interpersonal and communication skills for working with staff, volunteers, congregation members, guests, and renters
• Ability to lift, push, pull, and move items up to 50 pounds and operate cleaning and maintenance equipment safely
• Comfortable climbing ladders and performing light building repairs and upgrades (painting, minor fixes)
• Able to read, write, and speak English effectively
• Live within approximately 20 to 25 minutes of the church and be legally eligible to work in Canada
• Willingness to occasionally work up to 40 hours per week to provide coverage when needed
• Provide a satisfactory Police Records Check upon hire and every three years thereafter
